A curtain-raising parade, a Buteishiki (ceremony before going to war), an armor and helmet parade, the Kawanakajima battle and other events are held. A particular highlight is the re-enactment of the Kawanakajima battle on the final day. This is said to have been one of the largest battles in the Warring States period, and one in which 700 men, the total contingents of the Uesugi and Takeda armies, clashed in mortal combat.
