Marugame Castle Festival - Kagawa

This is the largest festival in Marugame City, with over 70 years of history since it was first held in order to celebrates the completion of the demolition and restoration work of the keep of Marugame Castle in 1950 and the castle’s designation as a nationally important cultural asset. This event takes place every year in May during the golden week holidays at Kameyama Koen Park in Marugame City, Kagawa.
The festival is packed with attractive programs such as stage events, Mandegangan big parade of marching bands and people in kimono costumes, and the mass dancing of the Marugame dance.
